Scottie Scheffler plays in 3rd roudnd of PGA Championship

The PGA Tour continues this weekend in Blaine, Minnesota, where defending champion Kurt Kitayama will attempt to become the event’s first-ever repeat champion.

The field will lack many top-ranked pros, but the world’s number-one ranked golfer, Scottie Scheffler, is scheduled to meet his Day 1 tee time on Thursday. With that in mind, it’s no wonder that the Texas native is priced significantly higher than the rest of the competition on prediction markets to take home the 2026 3M Open trophy this weekend.

PGA Tour 3M Open Winner Picks

The diluted field for this weekend’s 3M Open in Minnesota provides the perfect opportunity for FedEx Cup rankings leader Scottie Scheffler to get back on track. Despite consistently finishing in the top 10 in PGA Tour events this year, he failed to win a major tournament and hasn’t played his best golf in recent months.

Scheffler “yes” options to win the 2026 3M Open are currently priced at 26¢ per contract. That price is low enough to justify picking the contracts up, but we’re also buying Kurt Kitayama at 3.2¢ and amateur Ben James at 1.8¢ per contract to achieve a more rounded cumulative market position.

Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-80s throughout the event with humid conditions that will make for low scoring despite the water hazards. Iron shots will be at a premium, with the advantage going to players who are able to “stick” landings close to the pin.

PGA Tour 3M Open Latest News

There are a couple of noteworthy mentions in this category, but neither should impact the golf that’s being played on the par-71 TPC Twin Cities course.

First, there is still some lingering smoke from Canadian wildfires that both players and fans will be able to detect this weekend. The odor isn’t expected to be as prominent as it was for the World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina and it won’t affect visibility in any way.

Second, there will be an attendance surge during Saturday afternoon in anticipation of the “Swings & Strings” concert featuring Andy Grammer. The event will begin shortly after the final Round 3 putt has been made. The concert will be set up between the 14th tee and the 18th hole. It is scheduled to start around 6:00pm and will be open to anyone who purchased a general admission 3M Open ticket for Saturday.

PGA Tour 3M Open Market Movement

There is $27 million in notional trades already riding on the outcome of this weekend’s 3M Open on Kalshi alone. Despite this, the market has remained stable leading up to Thursday’s opening round.

The “make the cut” market for Ben James has dropped slightly since Monday, making him a value-based option at 67 cents per contract. We also believe Kitayama is a great pick to make the cut at 76 cents.

Televised coverage and live streaming will be split between CBS, ESPN+, Paramount+, and the Golf Channel. Subscribers to premium platforms should consult the published streaming schedules and tee times if they want to follow a specific golfer.
