Both teams will enter this Saturday’s contest with undefeated 3-0 records. A sell-out crowd of more than 100,000 fans is expected to attend as traders on prediction market apps look forward to this “high noon” (Eastern Time) SEC showdown.
Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns have already battled through the Ohio State Buckeyes, but now they must run the SEC gauntlet by facing seven more nationally ranked (top 25) teams between now and November 27th. Their quest for an SEC championship begins this Saturday against No. 14 Tennessee.

By all accounts, this game should be “easier” for Texas when compared to the upcoming October 24th home game against the No. 4 Ole Miss Rebels. Running back Daylan Smothers is averaging close to five yards per carry this season while wide receiver Cam Coleman has already caught four touchdown passes in the team’s first three games.
For Tennessee, quarterback Faizon Brandon has been sensational, but the Volunteers have yet to face a marquee defense. We’re predicting that the Longhorns continue their unbeaten streak this Saturday with a 31-21 victory over the Volunteers.
Midway through the week, prediction market trading activity on Kalshi is spiking for this game. Trading volume is quickly approaching $500,000 as of Wednesday morning as sports fans and forecasters alike place the Longhorns as a two-to-one favorite.
The Longhorns’ contracts on Kalshi are currently selling for 67¢ apiece, with the -5.5 point spread “yes” options going for 49¢ each. Arch Manning has downplayed the “Peyton” narrative this week, as sports media outlets point out the prolific college football careers that the quarterback’s uncles (Peyton and Eli) had at Tennessee and Ole Miss, respectively.
Despite their Super Bowl success, neither Peyton nor Eli ever won a college football national championship.
Expect trading activity to kick into high gear starting Friday night. Given that this SEC game is the first leg of an ABC triple-header, forecasters will send this market soaring well before the 12:00 (local time) kickoff.
As always, sharp traders will be watching the prediction market percentages once the game is live. Contract prices are expected to rise and fall in accordance with which team comes out with the best first quarter performance. If past college football games are any indicator, the Texas v Tennessee matchup is likely to attract roughly $50 million in notional trading volume if the game remains close throughout.
