As this week progresses leading up to the US Open, prediction market forecasters and media outlets alike are talking about Scottie Scheffler. The Texas native’s performance will be widely covered this Thursday once the action tees off from Southampton.

And there’s one question on every golf fan’s mind right now… can Scheffler capture golf’s grand slam with a win this weekend? He’s already worn the green jacket twice, and has victories in The Open and PGA Championship, but can he put his best golf game together at the right time?

US Open Golf Picks for This Weekend

It’s no surprise that Scottie Scheffler is leading the pack in terms of who will win this weekend’s US Open. He’s currently atop the FedEx Cup standings and has had one of his best years in terms of consistency.

But that doesn’t necessarily make him a value-based pick on Kalshi. At 14¢ per contract, those who buy the option are predicting he has a greater than 14% chance of out-golfing 155 other top pros, including veteran Rory McIlroy, Cameron Young, Si Woo Kim, Matt Fitzpatrick, and this year’s shock PGA Championship winner, Aaron Rai.

That’s a lot of skill to surpass, but we think Scheffler is going to have a breakout weekend, and are therefore taking the 14-cent contracts on him completing his grand slam with a US Open victory once all the players are in the clubhouse this Sunday evening.

US Open Latest News for This Weekend

Aside from Scheffler’s potential grand slam achievement, Cameron Young fans are hoping this weekend will result in the New Yorker’s first ever major victory. Young is currently in 2nd Place in the FedEx Cup standings, and has played some outstanding golf, but his first major remains elusive.

The course at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club is coming under particular scrutiny due to past controversies related to its condition during the US Open dates. However, a story published this week by AOL outlines several reasons why the conditions may not be so unforgiving once golfers arrive at their Thursday tee times.

Finally, Rory McIlroy is aiming for his second major victory of the 2026 season, and his first US Open championship in 15 years. The European may be approaching 40, but his skills and experience are more than capable of taking advantage of any “choke” moments from his opponents if he’s within range on the final day.

US Open Prediction Market Movements

There are a lot of markets that Kalshi traders can buy or sell leading up to this weekend – many of which do not focus on a single player’s performance. The price of each contract on whether Scottie Scheffler will make the cut has risen over 10 percentage points all the way up to 90 cents for a “yes” option, but we’ve also seen significant movements in the Hole-in-One contract price.

To date, the US Open winner market alone has garnered more than $52 million in trading volume; a metric that is sure to soar immediately before and during the tournament. If you’re a golf fan who’s not near Southampton and wants to watch the action this weekend, you’ll need to split viewing time between the USA Network and NBC.

A premium Peacock subscription will only give you access to NBC’s coverage window. Because of that, your best bet for a one-stop shop to watch the world’s most highly skilled golfers in action will be the free streaming available on the USOpen.com website (free sign-up and account login required).
