Report: Jeff Fisher Somehow Got An Extension
Photo: Matt Dunham/ [object Object] Just when it looked like the jig was up for Los Angeles Rams head coach Jeff Fisher, he reminded everyone that for Jeff Fisher, the jig is never up.
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com broke the news today that the 4-7 Rams gave Fisher a two-year contract extension earlier this season. To be clear, this is the same coach who couldn’t properly name his opponent’s players this week.
Adam Schefter added that the extension was signed “weeks ago.” The Rams won one game in October and one in November.
It’s astonishing that the latest news about Fisher’s job status isn’t a firing, but a reward. The familial connection could have played a part:
Eric Dickerson might have to wait another season or two before he goes to a Rams game.
