Reports: Brewers, 1B Rhys Hoskins finalizing 2-year deal

Hoskins' deal includes an opt-out clause after the 2024 season, per the reports.
A torn anterior cruciate ligament sustained in spring training forced Hoskins to miss the entire 2023 season after he hit .246 with 30 home runs and 79 RBIs across 156 games with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2022.
In six major league seasons, all with Philadelphia, the 30-year-old has a .242 batting average to go along with 148 homers and 405 RBIs in 667 games. He finished fourth in National League Rookie of the Year voting in 2017.
Hoskins became expendable when Phillies president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski announced in early November that Bryce Harper would be the club's full-time first baseman for 2024 and beyond.
Ten players got at least one start at first base for the Brewers last season, a list led by Rowdy Tellez (62 games) and Carlos Santana (49 games). Tellez signed a free agent deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates last month, while Santana remains a free agent.
