Rice Owls Debut Their 4-Foot-9 Running Back
Jayson Carter is a walk-on for the Rice Owls who makes Danny Woodhead and Trindon Holliday look like giants. Carter, a 130-lb. running back, is 4-foot-9 due to a genetic disorder. Yesterday, he had his first rushing attempt for a one-yard gain.
Carter isn't on the team out of sympathy; he ran for 1,233 yards and 18 touchdowns at Kipp High School in Houston. Carter even played defense, racking up 92 tackles, 152 assisted tackles, three sacks and an interception. Those sacks must have looked awesome.
