Rugby Player Who Took An Axe To Three Guys Who Allegedly Gangraped His Daughter Didn't Have A Daughter After All
There are a couple of details to update about the whole " Alleged Gang Rape Of Daughter Drives Former Pro Rugby Player To Decapitating Axe Murder" story. For one thing, he's been identified as former Blue Bulls player Joseph Ntshongwana.
Also, despite initial reports that he'd taken three out with an axe — complete with one decaptitation — to get revenge for his daughter's gang rape, it turns out the South African doesn't have a daughter.
Inconvenient truth, huh?
Anyway, Ntshongwana, who was updating his Facebook page until his legal predicament arose, appeared in court on Thursday. It was mentioned that he has a history of " psychiatrist problems." His dad said he was bi-polar. And then there's this:
Like a man being led to the gallows, he howled as five policemen wrestled him into the dock. Clutching a dog-eared Bible, the burly 1.84cm, 95kg former rugby player with soiled trousers sobbed and pleaded: "No, no, I don't want to appear."
Attempts to placate him and get him to sit down failed.
The whole soiled-trousers reference seems a bit over the top.
