Senegal's M'Baye Niang Scores The Sneakiest Goal You'll Ever See
If you’ve never seen a goal like the one M’Baye Niang just scored for Senegal against Poland, you’re not alone. This is one of the most ridiculous and hilarious and brilliant stealth goals I’ve ever seen.
What happened here was that Niang had earlier come off the pitch for a minute, presumably to get treatment for a slight injury. Once he was good to go, he went to the halfway line like he was supposed to and awaited the ref to allow him to rejoin the game. Once the ref waved him on, he noticed that the ball was working its way toward Poland’s back line. Sure enough, a Polish player tried to kick the ball back to the goalkeeper, not expecting that a Senegal player would be lying in wait behind them all, and Niang struck.
The goal was weird as hell and definitely sneaky, but it was also 100 percent legit. It was just a terribly timed backpass and a perfectly savvy decision by Niang to lurk behind the defense and see what would happen.
