Below is a Tallahassee Police Department incident report describing an incident at an apartment in the early hours of Dec. 7, 2012. A woman accused a suspect of a sexual assault with physical force, with the motive listed as "sexual gratification." The report is heavily redacted, but TMZ reports that Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston is the suspect.
The Tallahassee Democrat confirms that the complaint was filed against Winston, who is being represented by a Tallahassee attorney, though the attorney claims Winston has not been questioned by police.
The report describes the suspect as having a muscular build, with a weight of 240 pounds and a height between 5'9" and 5'11." Winston is listed at 6'4," but police reports are notoriously inexact with these sorts of things.
A TPD spokesman told the Democrat the investigation is ongoing.
"The case is open and active and the victim is working with the State Attorney's Office," Northway said.
FSU has issued a statement indicating that Winston will have no comment on the investigation:
"We are aware of a matter that was investigated by the Tallahassee Police Department almost a year ago. Because the investigation has not been closed by TPD, we cannot comment further at this time. We look forward to a speedy resolution of the issue. There is no change in Jameis Winston's status. Coach Jimbo Fisher and Jameis will be answering questions about football only until there is a resolution."
Update (7:43 p.m.): Per the Miami Herald:
State Attorney Willie Meggs would not confirm that the investigation is of Winston but said an 11-month-old complaint was turned over to the Leon County state attorney on Wednesday after media inquiries were made to the Tallahassee Police Department.
