Mines revolves around opening spaces on a grid to reveal symbols while avoiding mines.
If you’ve never tried the game before and you’re wondering how it works, this simple guide is for you.
Read on to discover how to play Mines and the top sites where you’ll find the game.
The Mines casino game is an exciting release that is based on Minesweeper. So, if you’ve ever played the old-school Minesweeper game, playing Mines will be a walk in the park.
Basically, you’ll find a game grid with a number of tiles. You have to uncover these tiles to reveal what’s underneath. The goal is to find as many gems as possible, then take out your wins before you find a mine.
The Mines game is very straightforward. When you launch the game, you’ll find a grid with tiles you can adjust.
Then, you tap sections to see what’s underneath. However, there are a few other features in the game that you should keep in mind.
Check them out below:
Mines might be simple, but it can be rewarding. That’s because, with each consecutive gem you reveal, the multiplier increases. Plus, you don’t always have to open up all the tiles before taking out your wins. Even if you open just two to three tiles and you’re comfortable with your wins, you can tap the cash-out button to take out your rewards.
Most variants include the option to decide on the number of mines that will be under the tiles. The more mines there are, the more challenging it will be to avoid them. But the good thing is that the higher the difficulty level, the better your potential wins.
Mines is a provably fair game, meaning that it’s based on a blockchain, and you can easily verify the fairness of each round. Meanwhile, the random number generator determines the section of the tiles that will have gems or mines. This way, every player has an equal chance of winning.
The Minesweeper that most players are used to is an arcade game that you download on your smartphone to play. But you don’t have to worry about installing anything extra to play the Mines game. That’s because most sweepstakes casinos offer them as instant play options. In other words, you can enjoy the game directly on your browser.
Keep in mind that some gaming sites have mobile applications. The mobile app often replicates the desktop site, so you will find the same offerings even when playing on smaller screens. In this case, you have to complete a download. From our experience, downloading sweepstakes casino apps is easy and follows steps similar to these:
Although Mines has caught the interest of many players, not all sweeps casinos have it in their collection
After reviewing each popular gaming site, three sweepstakes casinos took the lead – Stake.us, Myprize.us and AceBet.cc.
Stake.us is probably the best pick here if you mainly want to play Mines. Its Stake Original Mines uses a 5×5 grid, with anywhere from 1 to 24 mines, so you can make each round as safe or risky as you like.
You also get a 99% RTP, plus Random Pick and autoplay if you want to speed things up. There are plenty of other Originals on Stake.us too, but Mines is one of the most popular options for Stake gamers.
Exclusive Stake Originals Games. Impressive live games library. 3,000+ games from Hacksaw Gaming and more. Playthrough: 3x. T&Cs and 21+ apply
MyPrize.us has its own Original Mines game on a 5×5 grid, with 1 to 24 mines to choose from.
I recommend it if you want a straightforward Mines game without a lot of unnecessary extras, making it more suitable for beginners.
You can also jump between it and other MyPrize Originals such as Keno, Plinko, Crash, Dice, Blackjack and Hilo, so there’s plenty to try when you want something different.
1000+ casino-style titles including slots. Over 10 MyPrize Original Games. Fast sweeps cash redemptions. T&Cs and 18+ apply
AceBet.cc has the most interesting Mines setup of the three.
Here, you aren’t stuck with a standard 5×5 board.
Instead, you can choose from 3×3, 4×4, 5×5, 6×6, 7×7 and 8×8 grids, then adjust the number of mines to suit your preferred risk level.
What’s more, Mines at AceBet has a 96% RTP and both manual and auto modes.
Over 5,000 casino style games. 8+ Acebet Original games. Fast prize redemptions via crypto. T&Cs and 18+ apply
Here’s a simple overview of what to expect from the Mines betting game at Stake.us:
| Number of tiles | 25 |
| RTP | 99% |
| Provably fair? | Yes |
| Autoplay features? | Yes |
Unlike most developers that incorporate bright animations and graphics, Stake.us opted for a minimalistic design when creating its Mines game. When you launch it, you’ll find a 5×5 grid set across a dark background.
To the left of the grid is a small section where you can set your coin amount and decide on the number of mines you want. You can pick from one to 24 mines – the higher the number of mines hidden, the better your potential prize for each gem.
Like most free Mines games, Stake.us release features autoplay elements. You can use these to decide the number of automatic games you want. Before starting the autoplay, you have to set the number of mines and the amount you want to play each round. You can also choose to stop the game when your wins or losses hit specific thresholds.
