Key Points
  • RealPrize and LoneStar ending Delaware Sweeps Coins
  • Redemption deadline set for September 21
  • Gold Coin gameplay remains available

Two well-known sweepstakes casino operators are ending their Sweeps Coin offerings in Delaware, adding to a growing list of platforms that have reduced or eliminated services in the state. RealPrize and LoneStar Casino recently notified players that they will discontinue Sweeps Coin gameplay for Delaware residents, marking another shift in the state’s evolving sweepstakes gaming landscape.

The move affects both existing and new Delaware accounts and will change how players can participate in the promotional sweepstakes side of each platform. While Sweeps Coins will no longer be available, the companies said standard Gold Coin gameplay will remain accessible to users in the state.

Important dates for Delaware players

According to notices sent to players, August 21, 2026, is the first major date on the timeline. Beginning on that day, Delaware residents will no longer be able to collect, receive, earn, or use Sweeps Coins through promotions, bonuses, mail-in offers, or other methods.

Players who still have redeemable Sweeps Coin balances will receive additional time to cash out eligible winnings. The companies said redemption requests must be submitted by September 21, 2026. After that date, Delaware accounts will no longer be eligible for Sweeps Coin redemptions. Existing redemption requests will still be subject to the operators’ terms and promotional rules.

Why both brands are leaving at the same time

The simultaneous exit is not unexpected given that both RealPrize and LoneStar Casino are operated by RealPlay Tech Inc. The companies issued nearly identical notices and are following the same timeline for removing Sweeps Coin functionality in Delaware.

For players, the practical impact is straightforward. Anyone who currently participates in promotional gaming using Sweeps Coins will need to stop doing so after August 21. Existing balances can still be redeemed before the September deadline, but no new promotional currency will be issued after the cutoff date.

Delaware remains a challenging market

Delaware has increasingly become one of the more restrictive states for sweepstakes casino operators. Many nationally recognized brands have already either exited the state entirely or restricted their Sweeps Coin offerings in recent years. Industry operators, including several major sweepstakes casino groups, have previously limited promotional gaming access for Delaware residents.

One factor often cited is Delaware’s status as a regulated real-money online casino state. Unlike many jurisdictions that lack legal iGaming frameworks, Delaware already permits licensed online casino gambling. That environment has contributed to additional scrutiny of sweepstakes-style gaming models that use dual-currency systems.

Industry pressure continues to grow

The latest departures also follow previous enforcement actions involving other sweepstakes casino operators. In 2025, Delaware regulators issued a cease-and-desist action against VGW, the company behind popular brands including Chumba Casino, LuckyLand Slots, and Global Poker. Those sites later discontinued Sweeps Coin gameplay within the state.

As more states evaluate sweepstakes gaming, operators have increasingly adjusted market availability on a state-by-state basis. Some companies have chosen to exit specific jurisdictions proactively, while others have modified promotional offerings in response to regulatory developments.

For Delaware players, RealPrize and LoneStar’s upcoming changes represent the latest example of that trend. Anyone with remaining Sweeps Coin balances now has a limited redemption window before the programs officially end in the state next month.
