Area Man Plays For The Brooklyn Nets
NY1 ran a pleasant segment today with 26-year-old Seattle native Joe Harris, a foodie and newcomer to Fort Greene, Brooklyn. It’s a nice place for him to live and work, and no one ever bothers him on the street....
Jahlil Okafor Has Gone On The Offensive
Jahlil Okafor, the former third overall pick in the 2015 draft, is still stuck in basketball purgatory. He’s appeared in just two games and played 25 total minutes, and the Sixers seem to be insistent on keeping him in storage until a suitable trade partner can be found....
NBA Teams Allowed To Continue Playing After Combined 20-Point First Quarter
The Heat and Bulls are playing this afternoon in Chicago. Probably no one should be watching this game—the Heat are meh, and the Bulls are whoa that milk belongs in the trash, man—but there are few options on a football Sunday if you’re an NBA fan, and this was the only 3:30 p.m. game on today’s sla...
Giannis Antetokounmpo Shouts "I'll Fuck You Up" At Bucks Assistant Coach
The Milwaukee Bucks lost in Utah last night. It was a frustrating game—they lost every quarter, and seemed to be flustered by Utah’s constant motion and passing, which provided a pretty stark contrast to Milwaukee’s own “eh, something good will happen, probably” offense—in what’s been a frustrating ...
Dwight Howard Fined $35,000 For Being Dwight Howard
Of all the dipshit ways for Dwight Howard to earn himself a $35,000 fine from the NBA, this is almost certainly the Dwight Howard-est:...
Clutch Time Appears To No Longer Be Westbrook Time
Remember last season, when Russell Westbrook was an incredible monster, and his clutch performance was the stuff of legend? Remember how the Thunder outperformed their point differential by dominating those clutch situations? Remember how they went a shocking 26-16 in games that were within five poi...
Oh Great, Now John Wall's Knee Is An Issue, This Is Just Fucking Great
The top of the NBA’s Eastern Conference is a little deeper than most observers expected it to be before the season. The Celtics are kicking everyone’s ass. The Pistons are good. The Cavs are becoming good. The Raptors are their usual good selves. Teams like the Pacers and 76ers and Heat and Bucks an...
Ah Yes, These Are The Orlando Magic I Remember
I am very glad I didn’t say anything especially glowing about the Orlando Magic back on November 2, when they were “good,” before they remembered that they cannot truly be good, for they are the Orlando Magic. They almost fooled me!...

According to a report from ESPN, Cavaliers point guard Derrick Rose has taken a leave of absence from the team in order to re-evaluate his NBA future....
It's Suddenly All Gone Very Wrong For The Clippers
After winning their first four games of the season and appearing to transition gracefully into the post-Chris Paul era, the Los Angeles Clippers have since turned into one of the worst teams in basketball and lost nine straight games. Their lone win over the past 10 games was against the hapless Dal...
Ray Allen Says He Was Catfished By Man, Who Claims Allen's A Stalker
The day after a man named Bryant Coleman told a Florida court that he’s being stalked by Ray Allen, the former NBA player has responded with an emergency motion saying that he, in fact, is the one being stalked by Coleman. Their contact began, Allen said, after Coleman catfished him by pretending to...
Bree Horrocks Is Ready To Play Her Game
Panel discussions like the one that Bree Horrocks took part in at Purdue University in spring of 2015 tend not to make national news; they may not even make the school paper. For Horrocks, it was a different story. By participating in the Purdue LGBTQ Center’s panel on inclusion in sports, Horrocks ...
Joel Embiid Has Perfected Shit-Talking
Joel Embiid didn’t have the kind of monster game we’ve grown accustomed to seeing during last night’s win over the Jazz—his 15 points and 11 rebounds were perfectly solid—but he did provide the highlight of the game....
Kyrie Irving Kept The Celtics' Streak Alive
The Celtics’ stretch of early-season dominance looked like it might’ve finally met its end tonight, with Boston losing to the Mavericks by as many as 13 points in the fourth quarter. And then Kyrie Irving scored 10 of his 47 points in overtime, and the Celtics got their 16th win in a row. With a sea...
Warriors Endorse Jahlil Okafor's Quest For Freedom From The Sixers
Sixers center Jahlil Okafor is pretty much done in Philadelphia, as he’s played just 25 minutes this season and slipped behind Amir Johnson on the depth chart. Even though both parties should move on for their mutual benefit, the Sixers are holding Okafor hostage and hoping to trade him for somethin...
How A Bootleg Prep School Profited By Ripping Off Teens With NBA Dreams
During his first few days in jail, Mumin Tunc folded the limbs of his 7-foot-tall teenage frame as best he could and sat on his cell mattress with his back glued to the wall. He barely slept. Accused criminals filled the cells around him at the York County detention facility in York, S.C. Some were ...

Penn Coach Sorry For Costing Fans A Shot At Free Cheesesteaks, Vows Future Culinary Satisfaction
The University of Pennsylvania Quakers men’s basketball team took on Penn State Brandywine at the Palestra on Saturday, and I was in attendance. I took my dad, who actually played for Penn State Brandywine back when it was Penn State’s Delaware County extension campus. I figured getting to see my al...
Sunday's Exciting Markelle Fultz Update: Fultz Still Out Indefinitely
Word started to spread Sunday morning that the Philadelphia 76ers would be sharing an update on the injury status of young Markelle Fultz, and that the news would be positive. That’s great! There has been almost no good Fultz news from the moment the Sixers drafted him—any good Fultz news is great F...
