Dwight Howard Going At Al Horford Three Times In A Row Last Night Was Fun As Hell
One of the fun little subplots of the season of the season has been animosity between the Celtics and Hawks. The Celtics have taken the Hawks’ spot of two years ago as prime challenger in the East to the Cavaliers, and feisty point guards Isaiah Thomas and Dennis Schröder have gotten into it about w...
Aaron Gordon Jumps Out Of His Shoe For Beautiful Dunk
Earlier this week, the Magic found themselves in the awkward position of reassuring Aaron Gordon that the whiteboard-fueled rumors about trading him definitely weren’t true, no way. Tonight, Gordon tried to make a case for sticking around by literally jumping out of his shoe to turn this slick Elfri...
Lakers Make Monumental Effort To Lose, Win Anyway
How hard did the Lakers, second from the bottom in the West, try to lose last night’s game against the Spurs, second from the top? Let me count the ways:...
The Legal Fight Between A Powerful Agent And His Former Company Is Getting Ugly
Until very recently, Dan Fegan was one of the most powerful agents in the NBA. He represented John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Dwight Howard, Ricky Rubio, DeAndre Jordan, and others, while the agency he was president of (Independent Sports & Entertainment) represented scores of NBA, NFL, and MLB players...
Jeopardy! Contestant Biffs Gimme NBA Question, Loses Everything
Heading into Final Jeopardy, Amy elected to risk all $17,200 she’d earned throughout the game on a fairly obvious question about dinosaurs and she totally missed the landing. I have never seen a Final Jeopardy question as easy, and yet....
Any Game Can Be A Home Game If You're LeBron James
In the first half of the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 114-91 win over the Boston Celtics last night, LeBron James threw down a massive dunk, served up a demoralizing block on the other end, and then trotted into the crowd to bask in the attention of his adoring fans. This game was not in Cleveland. ...
Russell Westbrook Wields The Power Cosmic Against Memphis
One of the worst critiques of Russell Wesbrook’s MVP candidacy is the one that tries to sneer at the very concept of the triple-double. “It’s an arbitrary accomplishment!” mewls the weenie. “We’re biased towards round numbers!” he continues, sniveling, pretending like a the roundness of 31-10-10 som...
Thabo Sefolosha Settles Lawsuit Against NYPD For $4 Million
On the eve of the 2015 NBA playoffs, Atlanta Hawks guard Thabo Sefolosha had his right femur broken by NYPD officers after they arrested him outside of a New York City nightclub. He missed the duration of the postseason, and the NYPD charged him with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and obstruc...
The East Still Belongs To The Cavs
The Cleveland Cavaliers have struggled mightily since the All-Star break, watching the Boston Celtics catch up with them atop the Eastern Conference standings thanks to their putrescent defense. Since getting throttled by the Spurs last week, the Cavs have stabilized and won three out of four, altho...
What The Fuck Was This Basketball Game?
Plenty of good, entertaining basketball happened last night, so you probably didn’t notice this game stuck to the bottom of your shoe: The league-worst Nets, who have no real incentive to tank, hung 141 points on the Sixers in regulation....
The Spurs Forced Overtime On A Beautifully Designed Inbounds Play
Down two against the Grizzlies with just 2.7 seconds remaining, you’d probably expect the Spurs to try and get the ball into Kawhi Leonard’s hands. That’s what the Grizzlies thought too, so when LaMarcus Aldridge screened Leonard’s man, Wayne Selden, his defender, Brandan Wright, went with Leonard t...
This Steph Curry Sequence Was Ridiculous, Even For Him
Steph Curry is at it again, right in time for Kevin Durant’s looming return and the Warriors’ forthcoming playoff run. In just over a minute, the Warriors scored 11 points, all of which were either scored or assisted by Curry. He nailed a pair of threes, assisted Klay Thompson for another three, the...
Lance Stephenson Made A Late Layup And Hurt The Raptors' Feelings
The Indiana Pacers were up by 15 with 10 seconds left in their game against the Toronto Raptors when the Pacers’ Joe Young grabbed a rebound and kicked it out to Lance Stephenson, who jogged down the court for an easy layup. Immediately, the announcers started finger-wagging and taking Stephenson t...
Russell Westbrook Has A Double-Double For The Season
Tonight, Russell Westbrook scored 12 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and handed out 13 assists in a rout of the listless Milwaukee Bucks. The 13 rebounds that Westbrook grabbed give him 822 for the season through 77 games. Westbrook is already well over the 820 points he’d need to average double-digit ...

Magic Forced To Reassure Aaron Gordon Over Dumb, Embarrassing Whiteboard Trade Idea
What do you suppose Orlando Magic head coach Frank Vogel and, uh, star(?) forward Aaron Gordon talked about today, at their meeting—reported by the Orlando Sentinel’s Josh Robbins—about the sudden viral-photo-sparked rumor that the organization might be hoping to trade Gordon for Philadelphia 76ers ...
Orlando Magic Swear This Accidentally Leaked List Isn't Their Offseason Plans
Yesterday, the agent for guard Patricio Garino tweeted out a photo of his client signing a contract with the Orlando Magic. One lil problem: the contract was signed, and the photo taken, in front of a white board apparently showing a bunch of potential free agents and trade targets....
NBA Will No Longer Allow Team Broadcasters To Vote On Awards
NBA media members will soon vote on end of the season awards, and since the value of many contracts hinge upon certain awards—particularly being named to the All-NBA team—they will be deciding upon whether certain players will earn millions of extra dollars or not. It is strange enough that media me...
LeBron James Is Sorry About Screaming At Tristan Thompson
The suddenly desperate Cavs won a double-overtime game agains the Pacers on Sunday, allowing them to maintain their tie with the Celtics for the No. 1 seed in the East. It wasn’t exactly an inspiring win, though, as they needed 52 minutes and a 41-16-11 triple-double from LeBron James to pull out th...
Wizards Mad Because, Mew Mew Mew, The Warriors Kicked Their Asses Too Hard
God, this is so fucking embarrassing....
