That Terrible Celtics-Hawks Game, In One Play
Jeff gets it; Photo via [object Object] The Hawks just took a 2-0 lead in their first round series with the Boston Celtics after a prehistoric, listless game. Avery Bradley didn’t play because of a hamstring injury, Kelly Olynynk missed the game with a shoulder problem, and the Hawks’ coolest player, Dennis Schröder, turned his ankle at the end of the game.
The ‘tics shot 31 percent and had the worst first quarter in playoff history. The Hawks played better, but they only shot 39 percent and turned it over 15 times. There was a four-minute stretch in the first quarter where nobody scored, and this game was boring as hell throughout. I dunno, that’s Eastern Conference basketball.
Here is a one-play summary of the game.
Ian Eagle’s excitement level shows you how dumb this game was. Let us never speak of it again.
