It is the last Sunday of August and the second-to-last day of the month. We all know what that means, right? It is time to talk about betting on Major League Baseball! But with so many games, we can’t talk about all of the betting options; just the best MLB bets of the day.

Here are my picks for the best MLB bets of the day:

Miami Marlins vs. Washington Nationals

Washington beat Miami on Friday, 9-2, and yesterday, 5-4. They are the home team, and they’ve been doing a much better job at the plate (.249 BA over the last week with 38 runs scored to .222 BA and 21 runs).

Andrew Alvarez isn’t going to scare anybody (1-3 at home with a 4.40 ERA and .253 OBA), but neither will Janson Junk (3-5 on the road with a 5.12 ERA and .303 OBA).

My Pick: Nationals +101 (DraftKings)

Miami’s bullpen has been better, but that hasn’t made a difference to the last two games. If the Marlins were scoring runs with the offense they generated (21 to 38 for the Nats) maybe there could be an argument for Miami winning.

Since they haven’t, Washington to win outright is the best bet.

Our Current Best Offers

Colorado Rockies vs. Atlanta Braves

Mason Adams looked good in his Major League debut last week pitching four solid innings, giving up three hits and one earned run. But when he turns the game over to one of the worst bullpens in baseball (4.79 ERA) another solid outing from him may not matter.

Tyler Mahle’s season long stats are unimpressive, but he has been locked in at home (4-3 in 10 starts with a 2.53 ERA and .203 OBA). When he gets pulled, he’ll turn the game over to one of the better bullpens in baseball (3.39 ERA).

My Pick: Braves -1.5 at -112 (DraftKings)

If the Braves had been struggling at the plate, an argument could be made for the Rockies to win. But Atlanta has been hitting .294 to Colorado’s .255. However, Colorado has been more productive (27 runs to 23 for ATL).

Adams will keep the Rockies in the game early; Mahle has been good enough at home to keep the Braves in the mix. But when the game gets turned over to the bullpens, the Braves will pull away and complete the sweep.

Our Current Best Offers

Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees

Boston has an edge in the pitching matchup for this game. Ranger Suarez has been deadly on the road, where he is 3-1in 12 starts with a 2.67 ERA. When he gets pulled, he hands the game over to the best bullpen in baseball (2.94 ERA).

Will Warren has been decent at home (4-3 in 13 appearances, 4.33 ERA). But the Yankees have the second-best bullpen in baseball (3.06 ERA).

My Pick: Yankees ML at +107 (DraftKings)

Suarez and the Boston bullpen will keep the Yankees lineup from blowing up like it did yesterday in Game Two of the doubleheader. But the Yankees are playing at home, and the Red Sox have been struggling at the plate (.217 BA over the last week).

The Yankees lineup can be hot/cold at the plate, but I’ll take them to win at home against their hated rival at +107 every time.
