The Biggest NFL Story Today Is Whether Jim Tomsula Farted At A Press Conference

After a feel-good win against the Vikings in Week 1, the 49ers have reverted to the complete mess we knew they’d be, but ignore that for a minute. Did head coach Jim Tomsula fart during yesterday’s press conference? Listen for yourself:

That sounds like a fart, man.

The audio on that Vine wasn’t edited; you can hear the noise at 6:57 of the video on the team’s site. The timing of Tomsula’s squint makes it seems like he’s emitting the noise, but there’s no other evidence that it was him. Check it out; that’s the exact face you’d make if you were trying to pretend you didn’t fart.

Alas, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle did some reporting, and he learned it was not a fart, but someone shifting on a chair.
