The Misery Of Anthony Bennett's Rookie Season, Captured In One Play
So, how is Anthony Bennett's rookie year in Cleveland going so far? Not so fucking great, buddy.
The sad play in the video above is a perfect encapsulation of the kind of season Bennett has had so far. The rookie forward is averaging 12 minutes per game, and he's made only four of the first 32 shots of his career. Four! That's good for a field goal percentage of 12.5.
But those numbers don't tell the whole story. Bennett went a combined 0-15 from the field in his first four games before bouncing back with a 1-5 performance in his fifth. How'd he follow that up? By taking zero shots in six minutes during his sixth game, and then going 0-1 in nine minutes during his seventh.
This is what his shot chart looks like:
Sadder still is the fact that last night's game, which featured the atrocious play at the top of the page, was the best of Bennett's career. He played 20 minutes, grabbed five rebounds, and shot 3-11 from the field.
