USMNT Players Ether Abby Wambach

USWNT legend Abby Wambach has had a rough stretch of late. If you recall a few months ago, Wambach had some very dumb thoughts about foreign players representing the USMNT. This weekend, she was arrested and charged with a DUI. And after that news broke, the USMNT’s Alejandro Bedoya tied both incidents together with one especially fiery tweet:

Jozy Altidore then came in with another dig, this time calling back to the time Hope Solo’s husband got a DUI while driving the USWNT around in the team van:

A man of principle, Bedoya—himself of Colombian heritage, though born in America, and thus probably particularly irked by Wambach’s statements—didn’t shy away from his tweet when hit with the backlash:

Indeed, Alejandro. Indeed.
