Weird Minor-League Strikeout Likely The Most Bizarre You Have Ever Seen
This is a weird strikeout!
What you’re seeing here is Rockies prospect Josh Fuentes at the bat for his AA Hartford Yard Goats team, facing Binghamton Rumble Ponies hurler Cory Burns. Burns slips in his delivery, but throws the ball anyway—making it about 15 feet before bouncing and rolling well up the first base line. Fuentes jokingly “swings” at the rolling baseball—and got called out on strikes by home plate ump Patrick Sharshel after being put out by Rumble Ponies catcher Colton Plaia.
Hartford lost, 5-4.
