Mandatory Credit: Jerome Miron-Imagn Images Jason Robertson had a goal and an assist as the Dallas Stars defeated the visiting Detroit Red Wings 4-1 on Sunday night.
Matej Blumel, Mavrick Bourque and Wyatt Johnston also scored for the Stars, who moved into second place in the Central Division. Matt Duchene had two assists, and Jake Oettinger made 33 saves.
Defenseman Simon Edvinsson supplied the goal and Alex Lyon stopped 21 shots for the Red Wings, who have lost three of their last four games.
Both teams were coming off losses on Saturday. Dallas fell 6-3 to the host Colorado Avalanche, and Detroit dropped a 5-1 road decision to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Dallas led 3-0 after the first period.
Blumel opened the scoring 5:26 into the game when he put in a rebound off a goal-mouth scramble. The sequence started with a turnover by Detroit's Alex DeBrincat in the right corner of the Red Wings' zone.
Robertson and Bourque scored 1:13 apart later in the period.
Robertson deposited another rebound behind Lyon with 6:55 left for a power-play goal after a giveaway by Detroit defenseman Moritz Seider in his own zone. It was Robertson's fourth goal in his last three games and eighth in his past 12.
Bourque then backhanded in a cross-crease pass from defenseman Ilay Lyubushkin off the rush with 5:42 remaining in the opening period.
Edvinsson spoiled Oettinger's shutout bid with 7:59 left in the game on a wrist shot from the high slot. The red light came on, but the referee originally waved the goal off because it appeared to hit the inside of the goal post. But replay showed the shot hit the back bar of the net.
But it only took 2:08 for Johnston to restore the Stars' three-goal lead with 5:51 remaining.
The Red Wings are 0-9-3 in their last 12 games in Dallas. They last won there on Feb. 29, 2016, when Detroit won 3-2 in overtime.
