The Green Bay Packers will host the Dallas Cowboys in a pivotal Sunday Night Football matchup in Week 6. The Packers are second in the NFC North at 3-2, while the Cowboys are third in the NFC East at 2-3.

These are two teams that want to push the pace in their games. They both rank in the top 10 of the NFL in seconds per play this season, suggesting there will be plenty of extra opportunities to find points.

Green Bay’s featured a relatively average offense through five games, ranking 17th in the NFL in points per play (0.354). They recently added to their offensive line, though, which was the big problem. They’re coming off a dominant 31-point performance against the Chicago Bears.

The Cowboys have struggled defensively for quite some time, and that hasn’t changed in 2026. They rank 27th in points allowed per play (0.439) this season. Overall, they’re giving up 27.3 points per game.

The bigger key is that Dallas has struggled to produce pressure on their opponents. They enter this game with a below-average pressure rate (22.1%). Jordan Love has looked elite when given time this season, and Green Bay should find plenty of offensive success in this matchup.

Unsurprisingly, the Cowboys feature an elite offense again in 2026. They’re averaging a healthy 0.452 points per play. They also rank seventh in the NFL, averaging 27.6 points per game.

Cowboys vs. Packers picks

Green Bay’s looked good defensively this season, but their metrics don’t tell the whole story. It’s more important to look at who they’ve played, as that paints a clearer picture as to why they’ve held opposing offenses down.

The Packers started their season against Kyler Murray, but he was injured early, forcing Carson Wentz into the game. They saw Geno Smith and Michael Penix Jr., who are two starting-caliber quarterbacks in the NFL, although neither is elite. Since then, they faced off against rookie Jalon Daniels and Tyson Bagent.

This is a defense that’s still missing Micah Parsons, and they’re dealing with several other injuries.

The Cowboys will be the best offense they’ve faced, and we could see these teams get into a shootout, similar to last season.
