This week's card out of Shanghai is producing two of the starkest reverse-line-movement signals we've seen all year, with public bettors piling tickets onto favorites while the real money quietly stacks on underdogs. When bet percentage and handle percentage move in opposite directions like this, it's the clearest tell in the business that professional bettors are on one side while the crowd is on the other.

Two Screaming Reverse-Line Signals

The loudest signal on the entire card belongs to Sean Woodson and Jack Jenkins. Woodson is priced as the -155 favorite and his bet share just spiked to 68%, yet he's carrying only 5% of the total handle. Jenkins, sitting at +130, is pulling a staggering 95% of the handle despite his bet share dropping to 32%. That's a 63-point gap between bet share and handle share, meaning a handful of large, sharp wagers are overwhelming a much larger pool of small public bets on Woodson. This is about as clean a sharp signal as it gets, and it points squarely at Jenkins.

Nearly as extreme is Andre Lima against Namsrai Batbayar. Lima is a -270 favorite whose bet percentage just climbed to 89%, but he's holding just 27% of the handle. Batbayar, the +220 underdog, is drawing 73% of the money on only 11% of the tickets, a 62-point difference. This looks like classic public overreaction to a favorite while sharps quietly load up on the live dog.

Underdog Value

Two more fights show smaller but still significant sharp underdog action. Denise Gomes is drawing 84% of the handle against Yan Xiaonan despite only 35% of the bets, a 49-point gap that suggests real money believes in the live dog at +120 while the public leans heavily on Xiaonan's -142 price with small tickets. Song Yadong shows a similar pattern in his bantamweight clash with Umar Nurmagomedov: Yadong is pulling 46% of the handle on just 12% of bets, a 34-point spread that flags meaningful sharp interest in the +440 underdog even though Nurmagomedov remains the -600 favorite by both metrics.

Chalk Backed by Real Money

Not every signal favors the underdog. Meng Ding (-142) is drawing 96% of the handle against only 64% of bets versus Cameron Nelson, a 32-point gap indicating sharp bettors are stacking additional money on the favorite. Bilal Hasan (-800) and Sumudaerji (-218) show similar
patterns, each carrying handle percentages well above their bet percentages, signaling that professional money agrees with the public on these particular favorites rather than looking for value elsewhere.

Jenkins and Batbayar are the primary sharp underdog plays with these dramatic reverse-line signals while Gomes and Yadong are secondary value spots to watch as fight nite nears, for bettors chasing this week’s smart money.
