A Brief Examination Of Mick Foley's EBay Firesale
In an attempt to help his son "put gas in the car," lovable polymath wrestler Mick Foley has put up his entire boyhood sports memorabilia collection through a seller on eBay. Dude Love is clearly a sports fan. He was an active collector in the early 1970s, focused on baseball and basketball. He's selling Willie Mays, Nolan Ryan, Pete Rose and Roberto Clemente cards, among others. Each listing ends with the phrase: "Have a Nice Day! Bang Bang!"
It's the basketball cards, though, that intrigue. Check out the 1970-71 Pete Maravich Atlanta rookie card. Or a 1973-74 Pat Riley in booty shorts, hippie hair and a handlebar mustache.
But what, pray tell, is Foley doing selling off his Topps Wacky Packages sticker collection? To hell with gas money. That's a family heirloom, Mick.
