A Dog Almost Caused A Massive Pileup In The Tour De France
Less than three miles from the finish of the second stage of this year's Tour De France, a small white dog almost caused an enormous crash.
The dog ran across the street to the other side line and then made his way to the middle of the road where a bystander tried to get it back to safety. The dog froze in the middle of the road and then—holy shit look out for the bikes—they both run off in opposite directions.
With that crisis narrowly averted, Belgian Jan Bakelants won the stage after a late surge in the last hundred meters.
“It’s difficult to believe what happened today, it’s fantastic,” said Bakelants, who had a knee operation earlier this year. “Today it may be the first and last time I ever wear the yellow jersey.”
