Aaron Rodgers has to find another platform for his nonsense

Aaron Rodgers, who spouted his usual garbage on The Pat McAfee Show yesterday, will no longer be appearing in his weekly paid spot on the ESPN program.

McAfee, the retired NFL punter, announced the news during his show today, saying he was happy about the decision to no longer have the New York Jets quarterback on as a guest.

“So Aaron Rodgers Tuesday season four is done,” McAfee announced, leading to applause from those in the studio. “There are going to be a lot of people happy with that – myself included, to be honest with you. With the way it ended, it got real loud. Real loud. I’m happy that’s not going to be my mentions going forward, which is great news.”

Rodgers was originally scheduled to appear throughout the playoffs, according to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post.

McAfee explained the thought process around the decision, noting that he negotiates his own deals and maintains the rights to all creative decisions. He admitted that his creative decisions – specifically ones around Rodgers’ guest spots – have consequences.

“Over the last week, we have certainly given them a lot to get mad about and become loud about,” said McAfee, referring to people “against us” and their reactions to the Rodgers-Kimmel debacle. “We have messed up in that particular aspect, and by ‘we,’ I mean we’re a conversation show. People are having conversations. We live in a country that has freedom of speech, but also you’re going to have to deal with the consequences of your freedom of speech.

“We’ve been giving a lot of people who have been waiting for us to fail a lot of ammo and things to attack us for over the last week. We would love to get back to the point where we just *whoosh* move on and continue to silence all the haters who can’t negotiate as good as I can, all the people over here who can’t create a show as good as us, and all the people up here who are just always gonna be here, and they’re gonna hustle and do their thing, which I respect. But we need to do that. That is our focus, that is our goal.”

Rodgers has appeared on McAfee’s show in varying capacities since 2021, eventually leading to a weekly hour-long block co-hosted by the veteran signal-caller.
