Mandatory Credit: Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports Adam Frazier went 2 for 2 with a double and home run against his former team as the Kansas City Royals defeated the visiting Seattle Mariners 8-4 Saturday afternoon.
Vinnie Pasquantino and Kyle Isbel added two-run doubles for the Royals, who have won the first two games of the series after rallying from an eight-run deficit for a 10-9 decision Friday night.
J.P. Crawford and Mitch Garver homered for the Mariners.
Royals starter Alec Marsh (5-3) earned the victory despite allowing four runs on seven hits over five innings. He didn't walk a batter and struck out eight.
Seattle's Luis Castillo (5-7) gave up five runs on six hits in five innings, with one walk and four strikeouts.
Crawford hit the game's first pitch over the right-field wall.
The Royals tied it with a run in the bottom of the inning as Maikel Garcia led off with a single, stole second and scored on Salvador Perez's two-out single to left.
Kansas City took the lead in the second as, with one out, Frazier capped a nine-pitch at-bat by going deep to right.
Seattle regained the lead with a pair of runs in the fifth. With one out, Garver hit a towering blast just inside the left-field foul pole. Two-out singles by Dominic Canzone, Ryan Bliss and Crawford made it 3-2.
The Royals wasted no time in rallying. Frazier led off the bottom of the inning with a double and scored on Nick Loftin's single. A sacrifice bunt and a walk put runners at first and second and both scored on Pasquantino's two-out double to right that broke the tie.
Julio Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh led off the Seattle sixth with singles, ending Marsh's afternoon. Reliever Sam Long issued a one-out walk to Garver to load the bases and Dylan Moore hit a sacrifice fly to right to make it 5-4.
The Royals again responded, scoring twice off reliever Kirby Snead in the bottom of the frame. Nelson Velazquez walked with one out, stole second and moved to third on a groundout. Loftin walked and Isbel hit a two-run double into the left-field corner to extend the lead to 7-4.
The Royals capped the scoring in the eighth after Hunter Renfroe doubled with one out off Trent Thornton. Pinch-runner Dairon Blanco stole third and tallied on Isbel's sacrifice fly to center.
