Adrian Peterson Wanted To Run It Up The Vikings' "Donkey"
Photo credit: Jim Mone/ [object Object] Adrian Peterson’s revenge game wasn’t meant to be. In his first game as a member of the New Orleans Saints, going against his former Minnesota Vikings squad, Peterson finished with just six carries for 18 yards. The only memorable moment he produced was getting caught yelling something at head coach Sean Payton on the sidelines:
Both Payton and Peterson were asked about the moment after the game, and both were cagey. “We weren’t in any heated exchange...There was none that I can recall, and I’m being honest,” Payton told reporters. Peterson claimed that he was suggesting more inside zone runs, and offered this: “I could’ve said, ‘I love you.’”
A bit later, Peterson was willing to offer some more specifics:
Looking at the clip again, it does seem like Peterson is yelling about doing something to someone’s ass. It may have been a good suggestion, but I’m not sure if 32-year-old Adrian Peterson is all that equipped to carry it out.
