Alex Morgan's Header In Added Time Of Extra Time Delivered Team USA To The Gold Medal Match
After a brutal battle that included a hat trick from Canadian captain Christine Sinclair, Alex Morgan headed home a cross from Heather O'Reilly and delivered an invitation for the U.S. women to face Japan at Wembley Stadium in a rematch of last year's Women's World Cup final. The goal came 2:30 into the three minutes of added time at the end of 30 scoreless minutes of extra time.
The U.S. found themselves behind after all three of Sinclair's goals, equalizing each time—the first two on brilliant goals by Megan Rapinoe. We'll have more analysis on this astounding match soon, but we wanted to provide the Morgan goal as called both on NBC Sports Network and, below, Canada's CTV.
