Allen Iverson Accused By Ex-Wife Of Abducting His Children
Well, shit. The story of Allen Iverson's post-NBA life just keeps getting sadder and sadder. According to TMZ, Iverson's ex-wife, Tawanna Iverson, has filed court documents alleging that Iverson has refused to return their five children to her after getting permission to take them on a vacation in Charlotte, N.C., and is currently holed up with them in a Georgia hotel.
TMZ has the scoop:
In the docs, Tawanna says she tried to set up an exchange on June 4th at a neutral location—a nearby Target store—but A.I. never showed up.
Tawanna—who has sole legal and primary physical custody of their children — now believes Allen never took their kids to Charlotte at all...and is currently keeping them at a Sheraton hotel in Georgia.
Tawanna claims she's especially concerned because Allen's an alcoholic who drinks around their kids.
In April, the Washington Post detailed the broke and reclusive Iverson's struggles to adapt to life after basketball.
