Amateur MMA Fighter Taps Out Against Opponent He Was Beating Handily
An amateur MMA fight put on by the Prison City Fight League (uh, what?) ended strangely when flyweight Mike Pantangco tapped out while in the midst of laying a beating on opponent Jeremy Rasner.
This was an amateur bout that neither fighter was being paid to participate in, so any allegations of Pantangco taking a dive are likely off base. Pantangco even explained himself after the match, basically saying that he didn't really feel like beating an overmatched opponent into a bloody pulp when neither of them were getting paid for their trouble. As far as we're concerned, tapping out was a very decent thing to do.
