Annoyed Cam Newton Walks Out Of Press Conference After Question About Big Plays
Image via Steve Reed/AP After laughing at a female reporter and skipping a conference entirely earlier this month, Cam Newton suddenly left today’s Q&A after he initially responded, “Next question,” to a question about big plays.
Here’s a transcription of the question, which reportedly came from the , that pissed Newton off. (For what it’s worth, that’s the same paper of Jourdan Rodrigue, who asked the question which led to Newton saying, “It’s funny to hear a female talk about routes.”)
Big plays, big chunk plays, get to that energy I think that you’re talking about. Does this offense—and I know you had several at Detroit and New England—do you think you guys have the wherewithal to do that consistently week in and week out?
To be as charitable as possible to Newton, Person’s question is a little convoluted, but it’s not clear why the QB, after already dealing with press conference controversies, would completely abandon the podium over that inquiry.
