Another Buzzer-Beater For Another High School State Championship

Here we have Mercy star senior Maria Weselyj hitting a three point shot as time expires to give her team a 54-53 win in the Connecticut Class LL state final. Had Weselyj not made the shot, Mercy would have lost four consecutive Class LL finals, making her Mercy's very own Jim Kelly.

With 3.8 seconds left and down two, Mercy heaved the ball from under its own basket to Cassie Santoro—who looked like Laettner with a little more time—and she passed it to Weselyj who hit the game-winner. Buzzer beaten, game over.

This seems to be happening an awful lot recently. Everyone's got a smartphone and more games are being filmed professionally so it kind of makes sense, but it also seems like it's happening an awful lot recently.
