The New Orleans Pelicans avoided an embarrassing meltdown when Anthony Davis's double-clutch buzzer-beating three delivered his team a 116-113 win over the Thunder in Oklahoma City.
The game seemed certain for overtime, though it had no business to be there after a boneheaded foul sent Russell Westbrook to the line needing to sink three free throws with less than two seconds remaining to tie the game. That came after a turnover gave Oklahoma City yet another shot—one that Kevin Durant squandered.
