Anthony Davis powers Lakers to victory over 76ers

LeBron James added 20 points, eight rebounds and six assists. James' 3-pointer with 2:11 remaining gave the Lakers a 96-87 lead.
D'Angelo Russell, Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves scored 14 points each while Spencer Dinwiddie contributed 11 for the Lakers (38-32), who won their second game in a row.
Tyrese Maxey led the Sixers (38-32) with 27 points and Kelly Oubre Jr. added 19. Tobias Harris had 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Mo Bamba chipped in with 11 points.
Philadelphia shot just 8 of 37 (21.6 percent) from 3-point range while dropping to 0-2 in a four-game western road trip.
Maxey converted a three-point play with 9:10 remaining in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 79.
James responded with a three-point play 40 seconds left for an 82-79 advantage.
When Davis threw down a dunk with 5:37 to go, the Lakers led 88-83.
Davis completed a three-point play with 3:20 left for a 93-87 edge.
In the first quarter, Russell set the Lakers' single-season record for most made 3-pointers. Russell went 4 of 10 from long distance on the night, finishing with 187 treys in 2023-24. He topped the mark of 183 set by Nick Van Exel in 1994-95.
The Sixers trailed before Harris scored five straight to equalize at 43 with 3:05 left in the second quarter.
Russell dropped in a 3-pointer from the wing with 2:35 remaining in the half as the Lakers went back ahead 46-43.
The Sixers held a 52-50 advantage at halftime thanks to 13 points from Oubre and 12 from Harris.
Hachimura paced the Lakers with 13 before the break.
Bamba hit a trey with 6:27 left in the third and the Sixers led 65-59.
The Lakers went on top 67-66 with 3:50 remaining in the period on a jump hook from Davis in the lane.
Philadelphia led 76-75 at the end of the third.
