Arian Foster Abruptly Announces Retirement From NFL

Dolphins running back Arian Foster announced his retirement from the NFL this evening, a day after playing in the Dolphins’ win over the Bills. Here’s his full statement, via UNINTERRUPTED, where he says that his body “just can’t take the punishment this game asks for any longer.”
Foster was the NFL’s rushing leader in 2010, and made the Pro Bowl four times. He ruptured his Achilles tendon almost exactly one year ago against the Dolphins, and struggled with back injuries for a few years before that. He currently holds Texans franchise records for rushing yards and touchdowns.
