Arizona State erupts in second half, routs Oregon State

Huntsman Center. credits: Rob Gray-USA TODAY Sports Jamiya Neal scored 21 points and Arizona State continued its home dominance of Oregon State with a 79-61 victory on Wednesday night in Pac-12 play at Tempe, Ariz.
Adam Miller and Jose Perez added 16 points apiece as the Sun Devils defeated Oregon State in Tempe for the 15th straight time and 23rd in the last 24 meetings. Frankie Collins had 14 points for Arizona State (13-12, 7-7 Pac-12).
Tyler Bilodeau scored 21 points for the Beavers (11-14, 3-11), who lost their fifth straight game. Michael Rataj had 12 points and eight rebounds and Jordan Pope added 11 points for Oregon State.
The Beavers dropped to 0-10 away from home this season, including 0-7 in true road games.
The Sun Devils shot a solid 57.7 percent from the field, including 7 of 20 from 3-point range.
Oregon State connected on 44.6 percent of its shots and was 5 of 18 from behind the arc.
Arizona State blew a tied game wide open with a 26-5 burst to open the second half.
Oregon State trailed 44-38 after a basket by Pope with 15:19 remaining before the Sun Devils ripped off 15 straight points. Shawn Phillips Jr. scored the final five points of the run as the Sun Devils held a 59-38 lead with 9:20 remaining in the game.
The Beavers narrowed their deficit to 68-54 on a basket by Justin Rochelin before Arizona State responded with an 8-1 run. Neal scored three straight baskets to make it 76-55 with 2:30 remaining and the Sun Devils cruised to the finish.
Pope's late 3-pointer allowed the Beavers to tie the Sun Devils at 33 entering the break. Bilodeau had 14 first-half points for Oregon State and Neal had nine in the half for Arizona State.
The Sun Devils jumped out to a quick 13-4 advantage and still held a 27-20 lead after a basket by Perez with 5:58 left in the half.
The Beavers then erupted with 10 straight points and took a three-point lead on Pope's layup with 2:19 remaining. Arizona State answered with the next six points.
