Arkansas Fans Expect MMA Fight, Instead Get MMGAY
Sacha Baron Cohen can probably expect some more lawsuits from angry Americans after more unwitting spectators became part of the British comedian's latest dupe for his upcoming film "Bruno", based on the character he created on his "Da Ali G" show.
This time around, Cohen unleashed Bruno upon a fired-up crowd of hillbilly cage-fightin' fans. What could possibly go wrong?:
"Lured by $1 beer and the prospect of "hot chicks" and "hardcore fights," thousands of Arkansans were duped last month into appearing as extras in comedian Sacha Baron Cohen's latest staged mayhem. Cohen and his confederates organized cage fighting programs on consecutive days in Texarkana and Fort Smith. Both cards ended with two male grapplers (one was identified as "Straight Dave" and wore camouflage) tearing each other's clothes off and, while in underwear, kissing down their opponent's chest."
Thank God this took place in Arkansas. Imagine what would have happened if Cohen had picked a homophobic locale? Oh, wait...:
The audience, as well as local fighters drawn to take part in the show, became enraged. "It set the crowd off lobbing beers," [Fort Smith police Sgt. Adam] HollandHolland said. "They had beers in plastic cups. Those things can get some distance on them actually."
Actually, indeed.
