A's LHP Ken Waldichuk has elbow surgery, out for season

Oakland Athletics left-hander Ken Waldichuk underwent surgery on his pitching elbow and will miss the remainder of the season, the team announced Thursday.
Waldichuk was diagnosed with a UCL sprain and flexor strain last October and recently endured a setback. He had surgery performed at Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles to repair a flexor tendon and had UCL reconstruction with an internal brace.
Waldichuk, 26, posted a 4-9 record with a 5.36 ERA in 35 games (22 starts) last season. He was 2-2 with a 4.93 ERA in seven starts in 2022.
