Astros return OF Chas McCormick to active roster

Mandatory Credit: Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports The American League West-leading Houston Astros placed outfielder Jake Meyers on the paternity list Monday and recalled Chas McCormick from Triple-A Sugar Land.
McCormick had been optioned to Triple-A on Thursday with the team's addition of the newly acquired Jason Heyward.
Meyers, 28, is batting .226 with 12 home runs and 55 RBIs in 128 games. In 341 career games over four seasons, he is a .231 hitter with 29 home runs and 131 RBIs.
McCormick, 29, is batting .192 with five home runs and 24 RBIs in 87 games with the Astros this season. In 429 career games over four seasons, he is a .247 hitter with 55 home runs and 188 RBIs.
The Astros entered play Monday with a six-game division lead on the Seattle Mariners and at 75-62 had the fourth-best record in the American League.
