Begging For Red Sox-Yankees Absolution

No matter who ends up winning the Cardinals-Astros series, it's still a disappointment to FOX executives, who, as always, were not-so-secretly rooting for the Red Sox or Yankees to make the World Series. (Because there are no baseball fans outside of those two cities, you see.)

Satirical Red Sox Web site Call Of The Green Monster sums up this line of thinking succinctly with their mock story Red Sox-Yankees to Meet in Prime Time Consolation Series on Fox:

"Of course it s a risky idea," said the Fox official, regarding the Red Sox-Yankees series. "But how many features can you do on the White Sox or the Angels? 'Darin Erstad: The Early Years.' 'At Home with Carl Everett.' 'Dustin Hermanson s Favorite Fishing Holes.'" He shook his head. "We had no choice."
