Berman, As Always, Larger Than Life

We were at the Mets-Giants game on Saturday — we sat through the two-hour rain delay but didn't make it to the second game of the doubleheader — and, as always, enjoyed the "look what celebrities are at the game!" moments on the scoreboard. First was future Hall of Fame goalie Dominik Hasek and his family, which looked strangely Stepford-like. And then, the REAL celebrity, one who presumably called up to the Mets press box and reminded them, "Hey, who's the big dawg around here?" and got himself up on that board ... it's Chris Berman, of course. (In much better seats than ours.)

We considered coming down to Berman's section and saying hello, introducing ourselves, letting him know that, hey, it's all in fun, but we were with our fiance, and we had fears of a "You're With Me, Writer" moment, and if anything, we will never underestimate Berman's powers in that regard. So for each of our sakes, we let him be.

"You're With Me Leather" T-shirt [Gawker Shop]

(By the way, we just discovered last week that "You're With Me, Leather" has a Wikipedia page. Ha.)

(UPDATE: By the way, T-shirts are shipping this week, we're told.)
