Billy Sims Is Sorry For Loving Oklahoma So Darn Much
Billy Sims caused pain and distress to everyone in the nation during Sam Bradford's Heisman Trophy presentation, with the possible exception of two people—Sam Bradford and Billy Sims.
Some people ( ok, me) complained that Billy's excess of school spirit was an unwelcome distraction during Bradford's big moment. But Sam Bradford—who somehow thinks he knows what's best for Sam Bradford—doesn't agree.
I didn't feel like he took anything in any way away from me," Bradford said Monday during a VIP post-party reception. "I think he made my moment even more special by sharing the traditions of the university with me as I accepted the award. So I had absolutely no problem whatsoever with Billy yelling 'Boomer.'
Obviously, he's still upset and isn't thinking clearly. Sims even apologized for the distress he obviously caused to the Bradford family.
"I love the university so much," he said, choking back tears. "I try to be a spokesman for them. And I will continue to be myself and let people know about the great state of Oklahoma.
Do you feel better now, Sam? The man cried. But it's good to see that Billy has learned his lesson.
And I will never, ever stop saying 'Boomer Sooner,' regardless of who don't like it."
So we're all agree... wait ... what just happened there?
