Best NBA plays today
- Knicks (-2.5) at Cavaliers
- James Harden Over 17.5 Points (-111)
Knicks (-2.5) at Cavaliers - 8:00 p.m. ET
New York has been the most impressive team in the playoffs, posting an 11-2 record with the two losses coming by one point each to Atlanta. Yes, it is desperation time for Cleveland to win and extend this series back to Madison Square Garden. But it’s hard to make an argument against the Knicks.
Each victory during this 10-game winning streak has come by an average of 22.5 points per game. Granted, New York ripped apart Atlanta in the first round clincher, 140-89 to boost this average, but only one of the last 10 victories came by fewer than 10 points. Five Knicks are putting up double-digit scoring, while the Cavs aren’t receiving much contribution past the trio of Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, and James Harden.
Cleveland posted a 6-0 home record to begin the playoffs, but has dropped the past two home games by 21 and 13 points. The meltdown in Game 1 for Cleveland stuck a fork in the Cavs and even if they win tonight, they are not capturing this series. Let’s back the Knicks to pull off the sweep to head to the NBA Finals.
James Harden Over 17.5 Points - 8:00 p.m. ET
The Cavaliers heard some criticism after acquiring James Harden from the Clippers in February. Cleveland still advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals with Harden’s help and he has produced at home throughout the playoffs.
In all eight postseason games at Rocket Arena, the veteran guard has eclipsed this point prop, averaging 22.0 PPG. Harden scored 19 points in the Game 3 loss on 8-of-15 shooting, posting his best field goal percentage (53.3%) in the series.
Extending back to April 5, Harden scored at least 18 points in 16 of 20 opportunities. In 12 of 14 playoff games he scored more than 18 points, he made at least five field goals. As long as Harden isn’t terrible from downtown (5-of-22 in series), he has a great shot to pass this prop.
