Blazers Win In Overtime, Mo Williams Wants To Fight Someone
The Rockets and Blazers went to overtime for the third time this series tonight and Portland beat Houston 123-120 in the extra session. The Blazers now lead the series 3-1.
Skipping all the way to the final seconds of overtime, Houston rookie Troy Daniels—undrafted out of VCU and in the D-League until March 3 of this year—hit his first three NBA free throws ever, in overtime, with 8.9 seconds left, to bring the Rockets within one. Mo Williams was fouled on the next possession and sank his two free-throws to push the lead back up to three with 7.9 seconds left.
The Rockets never even got a final shot off because Patrick Beverley turned the ball over at half court. Time expired before the Portland dunk so the score remained 123-120. Immediately after the game, a skirmish broke out between Mo Williams and a couple of guys, including James Harden, on the Houston side.
Game 5 is Wednesday in Houston.
