Blogdom's Best: Philadelphia Phillies
This image was lost some time after publication. More than any other sport, baseball lends itself to individual blog obsession. Every Major League Baseball team has several blogs obsessed with chronicling the ins-and-outs of everything. Deadspin salutes these modem-addled souls and proudly presents Blogdom's Best, given to the most outstanding blog for each team. If you would like to nominate a blog (yours even) for selection, just let us know at [email protected]. Today: The Philadelphia Phillies.
We know life as a Phillies phan isn't easy, but it can't be nearly as difficult as actually being a Phillie. The team is constantly trapped in the Philadelphia mentality of expecting their team to fail while screaming at them that they better not fail. We've always thought that if we played in Philly, we'd ask to be traded. But we're wimps that way.
3. Phanatic Phollow Up. Analytical and smart, but doesn't lack a sense of fun either. 2. Shallow Center. Not just about the Phillies, but it's got what you need. Particularly dramatic rendering of the last week of the season, when the Phillies just missed out. 1. BeerLeaguer. Love the name, love the design, love the mindset, love the links, just love all of it, really.
