Blowout Loss Sends Serena Williams's Opponent Into Arms Of Ball Boy
Francesca Schiavone might have said she didn't need a hug, but as her first-round U.S. Open match against Serena Williams got completely out of hand Monday night, Francesca Schiavone totally needed a hug.
Schiavone had just fallen behind 0-6, 0-2, to Serena when she startled a ball boy with a sudden embrace:
"I don't need a hug in that moment. I needed a game, points," said the 33-year-old former French Open champion.
"I went to the ballboy to say, 'Well, that's tough.' It was just a joke."
