Blues edge Hurricanes on Kasperi Kapanen's goal

Mandatory Credit: Jeff Curry-Imagn Images Mathieu Joseph and Jake Neighbours each had a goal and an assist for the St. Louis Blues in a 4-3 win against the visiting Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night.
Dylan Holloway and Kasperi Kapanen also scored and Joel Hofer made 36 saves for the Blues, who were coming off a 1-0 overtime win against the New York Islanders on Thursday.
Andrei Svechnikov had a goal and an assist, Shayne Gostisbehere and Jack Roslovic also scored, Sebastian Aho had two assists and Pyotr Kochetkov made 15 saves for Carolina, which had its two-game winning streak snapped.
After the Blues squandered a two-goal lead in the first three minutes of the third period, Kapanen scored from in close off a long stretch pass to move the Blues back in front 4-3 at 4:26 of the third.
The Hurricanes took a 1-0 lead at 1:21 of the first period when Svechnikov came out from behind the net and redirected Aho's pass into the net.
The Blues did not have a shot on goal the final 10 minutes of the first period, getting outshot 11-0 in that span and 19-4 for the period, but they tied it 1-1 at 10:22 of the second.
Brayden Schenn made a short horizontal pass to Joseph in the slot and he spun and shot in one motion, hitting the top left corner of the net.
The Blues moved 2-1 at 11:35 of the second.
Zack Bolduc forced a turnover along the wall in the Carolina zone and Neighbours retrieved the puck just inside the blue line. He took a wrist shot from the top of the right circle that beat Kochetkov over his right shoulder.
Halloway added to the lead at 13:31.
He received a pass from Philip Broberg in front of the net off the rush and slipped it past Kochetkov to make it 3-1.
Broberg's assist gave him a six-game point streak to start the season.
The Hurricanes went on a power play at 1:09 of the third period after Blues defenseman Colton Parayko sent the puck over the glass and Gostisbehere scored off a point shot 30 seconds later to cut it to 3-2.
It was the 100th NHL goal for Gostisbehere.
Carolina forced a turnover in the neutral zone and Roslovic tied it up 3-3 with a slap shot from the right circle at 2:57.
