Bonds Shouts Out To The Peeps
Because the media:
a) killed his dad b) kicked his dog c) whacked his knee d) depantsed his gardner e) all of the above f) whatever else Barry might come up with in a dream;
Barry Bonds has been famously ignoring swarthy, nasty reporters to instead post on his official Web site, BarryBonds.com, forcing the press box retches, in order to have some idea of what's going on with Barry, to check a Web site that isn't either porn or betting lines. Barry posts regularly to his "journal," giving updates on his injury rehabilition (" I am taking it slow under the direction of Dr. Ting"), talking in vague, ultimately meaningless terms about Barry's life behind closed doors ("I asked Willie Mays questions about his career and about me as a child") and even taking movie suggestions from fans (proving Bonds' fans have their finger on the pulse, Barry this week took their advice to rent ... Star Wars). But the highlight of Bonds' site has to be his "shoutouts." Here, Barry, for whatever reason, just starts listing names of people he wants to shoot some mad propers in the general direction of. The list is random, disorganized and seems to exist solely to give strangers a Google boost. Though it's possible that Bonds just made them all up. This week's list after the jump:
A cursory Google search — essentially the first five or six people — shows:
Bill and Jonathan Yandle: Only mention is on Bonds' site. Heath Schneider: Either a real estate agent or a high school track star. Brian Maltez: Only mention is on Bonds' site. Nick Smith: Too many Nick Smiths to determine; it could be the mopey center for the Illinois Final Four team, but this seems unlikely. Anthony Abbate:Either a urologist in Brooklyn or president and CEO of Interchange Bank. Michael Dampier: A film historian or a high school track star.
And on it goes. Anybody know who these people are? Anybody that Bonds is shouting out to out there anywhere? Drop us a line, one of you. We want to understand your friendship with Barry; we'll even shout you out ourselves.
