Boogie Ellis helps USC pull away from Arizona State

The Trojans (13-17, 7-12 Pac-12 Conference) finished with 12 made 3-pointers in 24 attempts. They have won four of their past six games.
Arizona State (14-16, 8-11) has lost four of its past five games.
Kobe Johnson had 15 points and DJ Rodman added 11 for the Trojans.
Arizona State was led by Jose Perez's 25 points.
Adam Miller had 18 points and Frankie Collins finished with 11 points and six assists before fouling out with 2:59 left and Arizona State trailing 72-66.
There were 44 fouls called in the game with the teams combining for 60 free-throw attempts. Arizona State was 22-of-30 from the line while Southern California was 25-of-30.
Southern California led by as many as nine points in the first half.
Arizona State went on a 14-0 run to take a 25-20 lead with 5:08 remaining in the half.
The Trojans responded with a 9-2 run to retake the lead.
Southern California took an early seven-point lead in the second half but Arizona State responded with a 10-2 run to take a 51-49 lead with 11:45 left.
Shawn Phillips Jr. capped the run with five consecutive points, the only points he scored in the game.
Southern California answered with three straight 3-pointers, two by Ellis, to build a 58-51 lead with 9:46 left.
After Collins made a jumper to cut Southern California's lead to 63-58 with 7:50 remaining, Rodman converted a three-point play and Joshua Morgan made two free throws to increase the Trojans' lead to 10 points.
Perez accounted for 13 of the Devils' last 15 points, seven on free throws.
Ellis had 20 of his points in the second half.
