Justin Brazeau had a power-play goal for the Bruins, and Jeremy Swayman made 18 saves.
Lucas Raymond scored for Detroit, which has lost four of its past five games. Cam Talbot made 27 saves.
Dylan Larkin assisted on Raymond's goal, giving him 300 career assists. He's the 15th Red Wings player to reach 300 assists.
The Bruins were playing their second game under interim coach Joe Sacco after Jim Montgomery's dismissal on Tuesday. They snapped a three-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory over Utah on Thursday.
The Bruins' 32nd-ranked power play provided the first goal of the game. Tyler Johnson took a shot from the right side that Brazeau deflected past Talbot for his fifth goal of the season. Mason Lohrei had the second assist at 8:33 of the first period.
Boston's Mark Kastelic had a shot deflect off the crossbar late in the period. The Wings scored moments later with 58 seconds left. Vladimir Tarasenko passed the puck from the right boards to Raymond, who one-timed it from the right circle for his fourth goal and second in as many games.
Swayman made a nifty leg save against Andrew Copp during a Red Wings power play early in the second. Talbot made a stop against Pavel Zacha on a two-on-one situation late in the period to keep the score tied.
Boston took the lead at 11:30 of the third period. Andrew Peeke set up Marchand's sixth goal. Marchand's 18th career goal against Detroit came on a shot from the right dot, which he lifted over Talbot's left shoulder. David Pastrnak was credited with the second assist.
Marchand was called for hooking with 1:22 left. The Red Wings couldn't tie it as Moritz Seider hit the crossbar with 30 seconds left and Swayman covered up.
